Movies teach some important lessons too! | Grades III & IV | Theme: Animals | SDG 15 – Life on Land

As part of our unique pedagogy TASK (Trip – Application – Skill – Knowledge), students of Grades III and IV went on a special movie outing that combined learning with fun, discovery with imagination. The experience was thoughtfully curated to align with the month’s theme, ‘Animals’, and the globally significant Sustainable Development Goal 15 – Life on Land.

The young learners watched the beloved animated film "Lilo and Stitch", a story rich in values and meaning. The movie not only entertained but also inspired. Through the unlikely friendship between a little girl and an alien creature, the children explored themes of kindness, empathy, acceptance, and the importance of caring for all living beings, no matter how different or misunderstood they may seem.

The message of inclusion and protecting life on Earth was beautifully woven into this heart-warming tale, helping children make meaningful connections to classroom discussions around SDG 15. It encouraged them to reflect on how small acts of care can make a big difference in the lives of others—including animals and the environment.

The excitement doubled as the students enjoyed popcorn and juice, making the outing not just educational but truly enjoyable. Their faces lit up with joy, their laughter echoed through the hall and the ride back was filled with animated conversations about their favourite scenes and characters.

Back in school, the experience didn’t end with the closing credits! The students reflected on their takeaways through a guided classroom discussion that helped consolidate their learning. The responses were heartening—filled with sensitivity, thought, and a growing awareness of their role as responsible young citizens of the Earth.

The day was a wonderful example of how experiential learning can leave a lasting impact—turning stories into lessons and entertainment into empathy. We are proud of how our learners engaged with the experience and returned with not just memories, but meaningful takeaways.
