The students of Grade II, explored 3-D....

“There is geometry in the humming of the strings, there is music in the spacing of the spheres.” -
Pythagoras
The students of Grade II, explored 3-D shapes using straws. The thinking skills of the children were honed through the hands-on experience to create ‘3-D Models’, which further enhanced their creativity and imagination. The students excitedly created squares, cubes, triangular pyramids, hexagons, and various other shapes. The topic was introduced in a fun and creative way, provoking the children to inquire more and learn more. Through the ‘Mystery
Bag’ activity, the students identified 3–D shapes without looking into the bag and by using the tactile sense of touch and feel. It was a wonderful strategy to captivate the attention of the children and make the learning joyful.
