“Growing up begins with understanding ourselves and embracing the changes that shape us.”
Creating a safe, supportive and nurturing environment where every child feels heard, respected and empowered is central to our commitment to student safeguarding and well-being.
As part of this commitment, an age-appropriate awareness session, The Magic of Growing Up, was organised for students of Grades IV and V under the Guest Speaker Programme (GSP). The initiative aimed to equip students with the knowledge, confidence and awareness needed to navigate the physical, emotional and social changes associated with growing up.
The boys’ session was facilitated by Ms. Richi Salgotra, School Counsellor, who engaged students in meaningful discussions on healthy friendships, personal boundaries, mutual respect and appropriate behaviour.
The girls’ session was conducted by Dr. Sandhya Gupta, Consultant Breast Surgeon and Women’s Health Specialist, and Dr. Shilpa Kathuria, Obstetrician and Gynaecologist. The experts sensitively guided students through the changes associated with puberty, encouraging them to approach this important developmental stage with understanding, confidence and a positive mindset.
Both sessions reinforced essential aspects of personal safety, body awareness, hygiene, self-care and emotional well-being. Students were encouraged to express their concerns, ask questions without hesitation and recognise the importance of seeking support from trusted adults.
The initiative reflected our proactive and child-centred safeguarding approach, which goes beyond ensuring physical safety to nurturing emotional security, respecting personal boundaries and empowering children with age-appropriate knowledge.
By fostering awareness, encouraging open communication and building a culture of trust and respect, we remain committed to ensuring that every child feels safe, supported and confident throughout their journey of growing up.
